Wrong, Wrong

By Clarence William Page

While having breakfast this morning I heard a media announcer interviewing a person (supposedly an "expert") about the subject of  happiness.  What astounded me was the totality of wrongess that premeated the interview.  The premise had to do with whether or not happiness or a happy disposition is something one has when he or she is born or whether or not that disposition can be taught and learned.  It was a Sunday Morning and I normally do not focus on secular issues on Sunday.  However, the absolute wrongness of the premises advanced in the interview drew my alarmed attention.

The interviewer asked a question that was very close to this one:

If a person moves in with a signigicant other what kind of emotion (attitude) should the person have.  The possible responses included the choices "Be thrilled" and "Be Nervous".

I was horrified by what was put forth as the correct response.  The "expert" said the correct response was the "Be thrilled" choice.   In fact, I was so horrified by the response that I decided to write this article before going to church today.  My great concern came from the fact that both the question and the proposed answer were wrong.  Wrong, wrong.

First or all, it is wrong to live with someone (as intimate partners) to whom you are not married.  The word of God forbids it.  Secondly, if you make the mistake of deciding to live with someone (as intimate partners) to whom you are not married, the attitude you get certainly should not be characterized as being "thrilled".  Such a living arrangement is sinful and God will judge sinners.  (The wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23 {The Holy Bible}]).  One in such a sinful living arrangement should be in distress, anguish, and dispair.  Those attitudes should lead to repentance and the immediate moving out of such an arrangement.

Wrong, wrong.  You may, at this point, be laughing (most hilariously) at the premise I set forth.  That is understandable.  Yes, it is understandable (though not excusable).  It is understandable because you may have been educated in a "wrong" high school and may have graduated fron a "wrong" college (or colleges).  Wrong high school?  Wrong college?  Yes, wrong schools.  They are wrong because they teach principles that are contrary to the word of God.  That, I am sure, is how the socalled "expert" in the interview referenced above arrived at the wrong answer to the wrong question.

The choice is yours.  You, if you desire, may continue to follow the wrong, wrong philosophies you have been taught (though God commands all men everywhere to repent [Acts 17:30 {The Holy Bible}]) or you can choose to find the right way in the word of God.  In other words, you can continue to laugh at the points I made above and laugh your way to Hell (a place that you have probably been taught [wrongfully] does not exist) or you can repent your way to Heaven (a place that you have likewise probably been taught does not exist).

The choice is yours.  Wrong, wrong  or right, right.  The choice is truly yours.  The consequences will also be yours.
